Moong Dal Halwa
Ingredients
1 cup yellow moong dal(split yellow gram)
1/2 cup ghee
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
For The Garnish
almonds (badam)
Cashew nuts (kaju)
Raisins ( kismis)
Method.
.Soak the yellow moong dal in enough water for 3 hours. Drain well and blend in a mixer to make paste without using any water. Keep aside.
.Heat ghee in a deep non-stick kadhai, add the yellow moong dal paste and cook on a medium flame for 25 minutes, while stirring continuously.
.Add milk , mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 7 to 8 minutes, while stirring continuously.
.Add sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
.Add cardamom powder and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
.Serve warm garnished with raisins almonds or cashewnuts.
Note.
Store it in air tight container and refrigerate it.
You can make it with condesend milk also.
Add sugar and dry fruits as your choice.
