Paneer Butter Masala
Ingredients
500 gm Paneer (cottage cheese) cut into pieces
5 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp Oil
1 Bay leaf
2 Cloves
2 Cinnamon
2 broken Dried red chillies
2 tbsp Coriander seeds crushed
3 medium Onion sliced
5-6 tomatoes (roughly chopped)
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp Coriander powder
Red chilli powder to taste
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Kasoori methi crushed
2 tbsp Fresh cream
Method.
.Heat butter with oil in a kadai. Add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, red chillies and half of the crushed coriander seeds. Sauté for a minute.
.Add onion and add ginger garlic paste. Cook for it 5-10 minutes. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder and tomatoes. Cook on high heat till oil leaves the masala. Puree the mixture.
.Heat the remaining butter in a non-stick, cook the puree mixture for two minutes. Add paneer pieces and salt. Add half a cup of water / milk. Cook on low heat for five minutes.
.Sprinkle kasoori methi and mix it lightly.
.Serve hot and garnish with fresh cream.
