Onion Tomato Chutney
Ingredients for chutney
1 medium chopped onion
2 medium chopped tomato
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp oil
Red chilli powder to taste
Salt to taste
Water as required for grinding
For Temper( Tadka)
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil
Curry leaves (optional)
Method.
.heat oil in a pan add urad dal when it crackles. Add chopped onions. Saute for 2-3 minutes till light brown.
.Add chopped tomatoes and leftover masalas and saute for 2-3 minutes till the tomatoes become soft, pulpy and completely cooked.
. let it cool down and make a smooth paste for chutney. (when you grind the mixture add water as your required)
.pour the chutney in a serving bowl.
.Temper the chutney with oil and mustard seeds.
.serve onion tomato chutney with idli, dosa and medu vada.
Note.
.you can also serve this chutney without tempering.
.ln tempering you can add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
